MPH ’06: auto da sogno

Si terrà a Birmingham e a Londra il MPH ’06, una mostra di vetture ad alte prestazioni che ogni anno attira numerosi britannici e non solo, appassionati di auto di lusso e sportive, per stupirli con vetture sfavillanti e dalle sorprendenti capacità. Una sorta di Teatro del motore, che aprirà i battenti il prossimo 26 ottobre a Birmingham NEC per chiudere il 29, e proseguire poi a Londra Earls Court dal 3 al 5 novembre. Molti i modelli “estremi” esposti, tra i quali alcuni nomi sono già trapelati, e di cui vi forniamo la lista in anteprima. Così, se avete mai sognato di toccare una Lamborghini, ammirare una Pagani o sfiorare una Koenigsegg, i vostri desideri saranno realizzati se avrete la possibilità di visitare questa esposizione. “Le stelle” di quest’anno saranno, tra le altre:
Koenigsegg CCX: La famosa supercar svedese è diventata ancora più veloce grazie ad alcuni cambiamenti volti ad incrementarne l’aerodinamica.
Ford GT: La versione moderna di questa classica e al contempo moderna vettura è più lunga e più alta della precedente. Con il suo motore da 5.4 litri, Ford GT arriva a sviluppare una potenza di 500 cavalli.
Jaguar XKR: Ian Callum, stilista della XKR, ha avuto il merito di creare una delle macchine più belle del nostro secolo, e ha stupito la stampa con il suo innovativo telaio in alluminio e il motore V8 da 4.2 litri. MPH ’06 è la prima opportunità del pubblico per vedere questa auto.
Caparo T1: Questo potente veicolo pesa appena 500 kg, ossia meno della metà del peso di una tradizionale vettura da 200 mph. Radicale nelle forme, 500 cv, la Caparo T1 ha un rapporto potenza/peso a dir poco incredibile, simile a quello di una macchina da Formula 1.
Spyker Laviolette: una rarità olandese, che presenta squisiti dettagli e addirittura ornamenti fatti a mano. Laviolette è spinta da un motore V8 da 4.2 litri, e sviluppa una potenza fino a 450 cavalli.

Spyker Paris-Peking Concept: La Paris-Peking è una incredibile concept 4×4. Il telaio in alluminio e una potenza di 500 cv fanno di questo fuoristrada una vettura in grado di schizzare da 0 a 100 Km/h in meno di 5 secondi.
Bentley Continental GTC: Questa versione della Bentley Continental GT ha un motore turbo W12 da 552 cavalli, che permette alla vettura di passare dagli 0 ai 100 Km/h in appena 4.8 secondi.
Maserati MC12 Corsa: E’ l’unica versione da pista di Maserati, e stupisce per i suoi 765 cavalli erogati dal suo V12 motore. Il modello Gt è stato prodotto in soli 12 esemplari, e il prezzo di circa 1 milione di sterline inglesi non ha comunque scoraggiato gli acquirenti, raggiungendo un generoso sold out prima che la produzione avesse inizio.
Pagani Zonda F: La squisita supercar tutta italiana è capace di più di 250 mph ed è spinta da un motore Mercedes V12 da 7.3 litri. Questo missile da 400,000 sterline presenta gli interni rivestiti in fibra di carbonio e alluminio, e ogni acquirente potrà ottenere un paio di “scarpe da guida” fatte su misura dal calzolaio del Papa in persona!
Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder: Infine, il famoso marchio ha da poco presentato la versione convertibile della tanto apprezzata Gallardo. La vettura è equipaggiata con un motore V10 che eroga fino a 520 cavalli, ed è in grado di passare dai 0 ai 100 Km/h in soli 4.2 secondi.

The list of all cars in the exhibition With only a few weeks to go before MPH ’06 – the Jeremy Clarkson celebration of high performance cars – at Birmingham’s NEC next 26-29 October, and London’s Earls Court on 3-5 November – a list of some of the extreme machines on show has been revealed for the first time. So if you’ve ever dreamt of lusting at a Lamborghini, pawing over a Pagani or cooing over a Koenigsegg, you can do it at the famous show. Star cars in the MPH exhibition halls and on centre stage will include: Koenigsegg CCX: This viciously fast Swedish supercar has been made infamous by its appearance on BBC Top Gear, where the Stig crashed it. After modifications to improve it aerodynamics the car set the fastest time round their power lap ever. Ford GT: Ford’s 21st Century take on its own iconic and ultra successful Le Mans 24-hour race and road car of the 1960s. The modern version is longer and taller than its predecessor. This modern classic churns 500 bhp from its supercharged 5.4 litre engine. Jaguar XKR: The XKR’s stylist Ian Callum has succeeded in creating one of the most beautiful cars of this century, and has also wowed the press with its advanced aluminium chassis and 4.2 litre Supercharged V8 engine. MPH ’06 is the first opportunity for the public to see it. Caparo T1: This radical machine breaks the supercar mould, weighing in at just 500 KG the T1 is less than half the weight of a traditional 200 mph machine. Radical in its design and conception, 500 bhp, the Caparo T1 has a ludicrous power to weight ratio of 1000 bhp/ton, close to that of a Formula 1 car . Spyker Laviolette: This Dutch manufactured rarity has exquisite detailing and is packed with bespoke hand made adornments. A 4.2 litre V8 engine from Audi bestows the aluminium car with up to 450 bhp powers the Laviolette. Spyker Paris-Peking Concept: Billed to become a production reality in late 2007 the Paris-Peking is an amazing concept 4×4. An all aluminium chassis and a shattering 500 bhp from its Audi W12 engine means this off-roader is promised to scream to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. Bentley Continental GTC: The drop top version of Bentley’s hugely successful Continental GT is capable of a staggering 190 mph with the roof down. Its 552 bhp twin turbo W12 engine allows this 2+2 convertible to polish off the benchmark 0-60 measure in just 4.8 seconds. Maserati MC12 Corsa: This track only version of Maserati’s top of the range MC12 road car pushes the boundaries of performance with an astonishing 756 bhp from its race-tuned V12 engine. Only 12 of these GT racing derived machines have been produced and even a price tag of close to £1 million has not put off buyers with all sold before production started. Pagani Zonda F: This exquisite hand made Italian supercar is capable of over 215 mph and is powered there by a 7.3 litre Mercedes developed V12 engine. The sonorous power unit is one of many highlights of this £400,000 missile, the interior is hand crafted from aluminium and carbon fibre and each owner has a pair of driving shoes made for them by the Pope’s cobbler! Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder: The famous Italian supercar maker’s recently introduced convertible version of its successful Gallardo churns out 520 bhp from its V10 engine. Recognised as one of the most beautiful convertibles ever produced it has performance to match its looks with 0-60 mph despatched in just 4.2 seconds.
