Peraves MonoTracer. Come diceva il buon Ferry Porsche, “l’ultima auto costruita sarà una sportiva”, ossia il prodotto di nicchia è quello che sopravvive alle vicissitudini. Ecco il motivo scatenante di questo Peraves MonoTracer, una moto carenata (a voler essere sintetici) con prestazioni dinamiche dichiarate ai limiti della fisica.
La sua particolare costruzione, e la presenza sui lati di due pneumatici supplementari, ne stabilizzano l’angolo di piega sicura fino a 52 gradi, un risultato sorprendente per una moto da strada, senza scomodare gli oltre 60 gradi fatti registrare dalle attuali MotoGP. Questo su fondo perfetto, condizione indispensabile per sfruttare appieno le potenzialità di MonoTracer.
La base di partenza è una BMW K1200, radicalmente rimaneggiata: la sospensione anteriore è Marzocchi, mentre dietro lavora un sistema Monolever. Il motore è un quattro cilindri in linea di 1.171 cc, a sedici valvole, con una potenza di 130 cavalli ed una coppia di 117 Nm a 6.750 giri. Il cambio è invece sequenziale a quattro rapporti, con retromarcia, e sfrutta una frizione rinforzata a singolo disco in bagno d’olio.
Il prezzo? Circa 52.500 Euro, con 2 anni di garanzia totale e ben 25 anni su carrozzeria e telaio.

The best motorcycle tires for highway use on the market today allow a lean angle of about 55 degrees. Out of every 100 superbike owners maybe 20 have ever leaned their machines beyond 40 degrees. A maximum of 5 will regularly tip more than 45 degrees. And most of those sporty riders will limit their angle of lean by excessive “hanging off”, thus also limiting their speed in the curve. The MonoTracer with its “knee” (the retracted stabilizer tire) skimming the road, can lean to about 52 degrees and it has a turning circle and corner speed otherwise only achievable on a top-of-the-range sports bike. Of course, dry and clean roads are an essential requirement for such antics. If the surface is right there is no danger. And the drive is spectacular.
