Modelli Harley-Davidson 2006. Il settore delle custom è da sempre refrattario ad accettare innovazioni tecniche o proposte estetiche particolarmente azzardate. Le Harley-Davidson, ad esempio, sono rimaste più o meno fedeli allo schema costruttivo di quasi un secolo fa che parla di motori a due cilindri di grossa cubatura, trasmissione a cinghia ed acciaio cromato a profusione senza alcun limite per quanto riguarda interasse e peso. Le polemiche hanno comunque avuto vita breve, poiché le ultime Harley hanno dimostrato di possedere in ogni caso lo “spirito” dei modelli precedenti, con l’aggiunta di un tocco di comodità e modernità che le rende ancor più affascinanti.
Nuova gamma 2006 Proprio con l’intento di innovare senza stravolgere Harley-Davidson ha presentato la sua gamma 2006, con aggiornamenti per i modelli già in commercio e versioni completamente inedite. La novità più interessante è sicuramente il cambio a sei rapporti adottato da tutta la gamma Dyna, che viene oltretutto arricchita da due nuovi modelli: la FXDBI Street Bob e l’edizione limitata FXDI 35th Anniversary Super Glide. Quest’ultima particolare versione ricorda il “compleanno” della FX Super Glide del 1971, una moto che ha rivoluzionato il concetto di custom e che ha poi dato origine alla FXD. Il direttore della casa statunitense, Bill Davidson, dichiara con orgoglio che “lo spirito della Super Glide risplenderà in ogni modello prodotto dalla Harley-Davidson nel 2006”.

Aggiornamenti per la gamma Softail La linea Softail vede la reintroduzione della carismatica FLSTI Heritage Softail ed il debutto di una “gommona” posteriore da 200mm sulle FXSTI Softail Standard ed FXSTBI Softail Night Train. La famiglia Touring include la nuova FLHXI Street Glide, una naked imponente destinata a destare scalpore. Il Sistema Audio Avanzato sviluppato da Harman/Pardon è un sistema audio integrato che fissa un nuovo standard per l’industria motociclistica. Cambio e frizione meno “ruvidi” Tutti i sei modelli della famiglia XL Sportster dispongono di un cambio migliorato nella manovrabilità ed una nuova frizione ammorbidita che risolve uno dei difetti (o pregi…) delle custom marchiate H-D. Il reparto CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) ha creato poi la Screamin’ Eagle Ultra Classic Electra Glide equipaggiata dal propulsore 103 Stroker Twin Cam ed accessoriata a dovere dall’impianto audio sopraccitato, da vari particolari customizzabili e dalla verniciatura esclusiva.
Un grande sforzo produttivo per la casa americana, che continua a far valere la sua tradizione secolare con prodotti sempre affascinanti, che attirano gli sguardi quando “tuonano” lungo le strade di tutto il mondo.

Five new models and a host of styling and engineering updates highlight a diverse line of American V-Twin motorcycles from Harley-Davidson for 2006. Leading the way is the Dyna family of performance custom motorcycles,which has been completely re-engineered for 2006 and incorporates a new 6-speed Cruise. Drive transmission and two new models: the minimalist FXDBI Street Bob and a limited-production FXDI 35th Anniversary Super Glide. New models also join the Softail, Touring and VRSC product families.

Each new Harley-Davidson motorcycle reflects a passion that has burned undiminished for more than a century.
Highlights of the 2006 Harley-Davidson line include: The Dyna family is re-engineered and features new frame geometry, new 49mm forks, and the new 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission. The limited-edition FXDI 35th Anniversary Super Glide commemorates the introduction of the original factory custom, the 1971 FX Super Glide. The new FXDBI Street Bob offers minimalist styling reminiscent of the early days of home-built customs.
The Softail line features the reintroduction of the charismatic FLSTI Heritage Softail and the debut of a wide, 200mm rear tyre on the FXSTI Softail Standard and FXSTBI Softail Night Train. The Touring family includes the new FLHXI Street Glide, an “undressed” dresser that’s sure to cause a stir. The new Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon is an integrated audio/infotainment system that sets a new standard for the motorcycle industry. The liquid-cooled revolution continues for 2006 with the introduction of the menacing VRSCD Night Rod to the VRSC family. All six models in the XL Sportster family offer a new, smoother-shifting transmission and significantly reduced clutch effort for 2006. Harley-Davidson will offer eight new paint colours and two-tone combinations for 2006. Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) has created the new FLHTCUSE Screamin’ Eagle Ultra Classic Electra Glide for 2006. Powered by the Screamin’ Eagle 103 Stroker Twin Cam engine and featuring an exclusive paint scheme, the new Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio System, and a host of custom accessories, the new Screamin’ Eagle Ultra brings a new level of performance and style to the touring scene. The VRSCSE2 Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod and the FLSTFSE2 Screamin’ Eagle Fat Boy round out the CVO line for 2006.
