We have already talked to you about new Mitsubishi Lancer some days ago. Mitsubishi’s all-new Lancer family of sports sedans is to be revealed in full by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation with the unveiling of the awesome Prototype X at the forthcoming North American International Auto Show to be held in Detroit during January 2007.This new sedan has just been introduced, with a completely renewed look which aims to be definately more young and modern. Also this new Lancer generation is intended to be modified by Mitsubishi rally’s department, to become a powerful racecar named Evolution X. A stunning supercar The stunning Prototype X has been created to give a clear and accurate design vision for the next generation of Mitsubishi’s iconic supercar, the much anticipated and all-new Lancer Evolution. Consistent with MMC’s impeccable sporting credentials, its high performance engine, outstanding dynamics and sharp design will appeal to enthusiasts worldwide. As such, Prototype X will demonstrate the depth and breadth of the new Lancer sports sedan family – which also makes its show debut in Detroit – from entry model, right up to the all-new range-topping Lancer Evolution which will be unveiled in production form later in 2007. Not only sports shapes, but also proper supercar’s performances: this new concept car is powered by a 2.0 litres 4 cyliders DOHC MIVEC with intercooler turbo, cabable of guaranteering really amazing sports performances.
Transmission is both automatic and manual, six speed, and very precise. Traction system is named S-AWC, which means Super All Wheel Control, and it is based on the renowned traditional Mitsubishi integral traction, that we can find also in Lancer Evolution, but with different control systems added, like Active Brake Control, lActive Steering System and Roll Control Suspension. In addition, this concept car features MacPherson suspension on the front and a multi-link system at the rear. As you can see looking at our photogallery, Yokohama Advan tyres dress up 20” alloy wheels.
Light Mitsubishi Concept-X’s structure is composed of alluminium, and this guarantee a very light weight, but till keeping steadiness and safety. Interior’s structure was studied to help a “communication” between the driver and the vehicle. A high risolution LCD monitor contains all informations about S-AWD system. Also passengers are equipped with a personal LCD monitor, placed on the headrest of the front seats. In conclusion, shell seats and leather and allumium detailings give the whole cab an aggressive sports look.
